Equine Adoption Process
If you are looking for an equine partner, or simply have space to share and love to give, we encourage you to adopt from us.
Our horses have gone through extensive rehabilitation and retraining programs, and we do our very best to pair adopters with horses that inspire them and are capable of their intended use. We create matches based on mutual training levels and temperaments. Our goal -- create a lifelong partnership!

Apply to Adopt
Applying to Adopt may or may not come first. It's entirely possible a volunteer may fall in love before an application is put in. However, the adoption application is a critical step that must be completed, so if you've not already met your ideal partner, might as well start here. Adopters do not need to apply for every horse they are interested in -- we will keep approved applications open for six months. Be advised the application will ask you for a veterinarian and farrier. If you do not currently own horses, we are happy to provide you with references.

Meet The Horse
Whether it is through volunteering or scheduling appointments specifically to spend time with the chosen candidate, we require a minimum of four meetings with the horse. During these meetings adopters will have the opportunity to work with horse under gradually decreasing supervision. Don't stress! We know the meetings can be awkward, but we're friendly, and our foremost concern is our adopter's safety. We will show you all we know about the horse and eventually turn you loose to get to know each other.

Finalize the Agreement
Once a match is made, we schedule a time with our adopter to view the intended stabling facility and sign the contract. The contract works as a life-time lease with the adopter having full rights of use in exchange for the adoption fee, while we retain ownership of the horse. At this time, we can enroll adopters in the rescue registry, if desired.
