Who We Are
Discover all the people who work tirelessly to make our cogs turn. Even with the generosity of our donors, sponsors, voluteers, and foster homes, none of the things we do could happen without these dedicated individuals. The saying is, 'It takes a village" -- nothing is more true when it comes to rescue.
What We Do
Every rescue holds the same core philosophy -- rehabilitate horses so that they can go into permanent adoptive homes. Certainly, we are committed to the same mission. How we go about getting to that point is different, and we go a step further to involve our community whenever possible. Community Outreach Programs
Our community is both local and also spans state borders. We believe in creating community bonds whenever possible. We also hold dear a commitment to supporting and encouraging youth participation--without the interest of kids, our beloved equine sports would suffer a critical decline. Plus, horses are good for kids! Discover what we do to support 4-H and Scouting programs and explore the connections that cross state lines.
Events
It's no fun to stay at home every day of the year, and like all horse enthusiasts, we like to show off our wonderful partners. We also believe in getting out in the community, and doing so is critical to gaining ongoing support. Our events are critical fundraiser opportunities, and they also allow us to bring our work into the public eye. As each year continues, our calendar continues to grow. We hope you'll check out our events then come out and see us in person!
Education
It seems counterproductive to have a goal of putting one's self out of business. However, in an ideal world, the general horse-loving populace would be fully armed with information that leads to the end of the cycle of "throwing away" race horses. When that occurs, we, and rescues like ours, are no longer necessary. We are committed to this ideal outcome.
